In the most recent population figures, Caledon was the third fastest growing community in the Greater Toronto Area with a population growth of 26.8% from 1996 to 2001. The City of Toronto itself only grew by only 4% over the same time period.

Métis Transit Ltd completed recent studies to determine the needs for transit service in this fast growing community. The results show that this type of transit system is needed. A small investment will assist in providing an alternative to grid-lock.

Over 1600 surveys were recently received and these results indicate over 80% of respondents said that they would like to see a transit service for Caledon. This represents approximatley 4% of the current population (according to statictics Canada-40,000) responded and more continue to be received.

Small businesses have also agreed to either advertise or assist in the distribution of transit products (passes, tokens, ceramic mugs, postcards, etc) throughout the Town.

Metis Transit would like your investment to provide this type of transit service to this community.
